I think this little girl's name was mai {i didn't know her that well, she wasn't one of my students, but i remember playing card games with her and playing with our umbrellas in the rain}.
I called her nong mai.
She called me pii ni kay laaa.

notes:
- i liked this speech lots.
- i liked this hair
- happy palm sunday.
-"to be young and in love and swinging" my husband lived in Seoul and we loved this interview and giggled a little when we read it.
- i love these street images. sitting and talking. leaning and smoking. the mixing of voices. the colliding of lives.

sentire {to feel}

“When we reflect that sentence means, literally, ‘a way of thinking’ (latin: sententia) and that it comes from the latin sentire (to feel), we realize that the concepts of sentence and sentence structure are not merely grammatical or merely academic –not negligible in any sense. A sentence is both the opportunity and the limit of thought –what we have to think with and what we have to think in.” –Wendell Berry

not having the greatest day . . .
posting these photos to cheer myself up.
we placed these little guys amongst the green flower stems on every table for this shower. i loved it. it looked like they were in their natural habitat, traipsing along through the green, peeking out in the clearings, camouflaged.
