It is cold in the mornings.
Thom says it reminds him of racing to catch the country school bus. If he hurried, he could get in 15 minutes of soccer before the bell rang.
September is easeful. Little people we know are starting preschool, with their backpacks banging against the backs of their knees. Distances shrink this time of year. our radiuses narrow. everyone starts staying closer to home.
it's poetry. beautiful

Deleteautumn feelings by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
ReplyDeleteflourish greener, as ye clamber,
Oh ye leaves, to seek my chamber,
Up the trellis'd vine on high!
May ye swell, twin-berries tender,
Juicier far,--and with more splendour
Ripen, and more speedily!
O'er ye broods the sun at even
As he sinks to rest, and heaven
Softly breathes into your ear
All its fertilising fullness,
While the moon's refreshing coolness,
Magic-laden, hovers near;
And, alas! ye're watered ever
By a stream of tears that rill
From mine eyes--tears ceasing never,
Tears of love that nought can still!

ReplyDeleteIt occurred to me the other day, when I re-read one of your beautiful posts that you baby had already come. I felt a little silly, when I thought about what I wrote as a comment back then. Well, all I wanted to say now is - CONGRATULATIONS! It is so beautiful to follow this little family of three. I know we are just strangers, but I hope you don not mind.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are so beautiful. Thanks for sharing, and the encouragement to get my camera out again.
ReplyDeleteOur september was very much unlike september. cold one day and warm the next three. October has began this way too, I wonder when the cold will be here to stay. (your bread looks delicious)
ReplyDeleteYour pictures transport me to a different realm.
ReplyDeleteyour photos are remarkable. absolutely love them!
ReplyDeleteI had to come back here Nikaela because I can't stop thinking about that second photo of the babe with the hat, and the forth photo with the light on your back, something about them..
