turn

the weather turned this weekend.

we wore denim around our arms and cotton around our necks. at night buried our chins in our scarves.
catching our reflections in rain puddles, we were reminded, bittersweet, of whats coming.

we drove out of the city one morning early, made coffee over a smoldry fire and fried fish and eggs and toast in grandma's black pan.

happy labor day.
